Just give it some time

A revelation occurred to me today while I was having one of my pretty normal chaotic mornings. Today, however was particularly chaotic as my husband rushed off to work leaving me with a crying baby and one of my kids doing business on the potty. In desperation, I loaded the kids up into the car and we took a family trip to the drive through of one of our local bakeries. I ordered some donuts, Kringle, a power sandwich for me and then we proceeded to drive home. On the drive home, I remembered I didn’t even order my coffee, so I scarfed down my breakfast sandwich, we all piled out of the car and then life seemed to be a little easier as I decided I know had the mental strength to make my children breakfast and feed the baby. We saved the donuts for a snack and had mini cups of coffee and cream and orange coffee together. It was pleasant.

After putting the baby down for his morning nap, I had an occurrence that got me thinking. Things can wait. They just can wait. The dishes can wait, the breakfast can wait, everything can just wait. It’s better to take some time to become mentally at peace before diving into all the work. The work will still be there ready when you are, but the waiting, helps you do the work with peace.

So as busy as we are as moms, let’s learn to wait for the peace to come instead of trudge through the day with grumbling hearts.
