Well, it's the first week of classes (for me, of course everyone else started last week), and I'm super glad to be back in school. It's nice to be able to connect with people around my same age group that like to go out and do things. I connected with the Intervarsity (Christian group) on campus. We have it every Monday; and we sing songs- and read scripture and study God's word together. It's pretty awesome- and great testimony to the college. It's amazing to be able to know that as we sing "The Lord our God is never failing" and it is being proclaimed through the outside walls of our room into the main hall where students walking by can hear us singing about our great God! It's really amazing! Also- they have this big rolling sign they take around for witnessing- it contains things that says "what would you like to be more of" And it would say things like more friendly, less afraid, more confident etc; and then students pick which one and put there name on the sign- and then they share a verse in the Bible that relates to what they picked. I thought that was so cool!
Also-- I was able to get together with some newly found friends (and one old) and play basketball together with them. I haven't picked up a basketball in nearly two years- so it was definitely fun to get back out on the court, and yet it was very tiring and sore! In fact, I jumped up to smack the ball out of someones hands and I ended up running right into the bleachers- and my whole right shoulder and upper arm is so sore and now starting to bruise up a bit. I had to shower with one hand this morning! The guy who was defending me in basketball must not have been too familiar with the game- because he gaurded me on offense and defense! My dad asked me why I didn't shove him out of the way, and I explained to him that he was a body builder and he could lift 450 pounds. WOW.... he's just about my height too! I can't believe someone can lift that- but anyways!
SO! It's been interesting meeting new faces and interacting. I'm praying so hard I don't get sick though-- because I feel some of this upper-respiratory stuff going on :( and I really don't want to deal with it. I hope it goes away.
I'm keeping baby Leela in my prayers. I pray for her daily. :)
Lots of Love,
Courtney
Sounds like a very successful and enjoyable first week of school so far!!! I'm glad you've had some time to get together with friends and meet new people. That's always so much fun!!! The Christian group sounds really neat too! Witnessing can be really enjoyable, I went with some friends witnessing on the EC campus last summer. Hopefully you guys have a good impact on the other students and teachers and win some souls for Christ!!!!! =D
